As per the latest reports, all those travelling from these said countries will now have to undergo strict quarantine measures on arrival to Japan. Further, Japanese nationals as well as foreign residents, travelling from Colorado, Hawaii, Minnesota and New York to Japan, will be required to mandatorily spend three days of their two-week quarantine at government-designated facilities. As per the latest reports, all those travelling from these said countries will now have to undergo strict quarantine measures on arrival to Japan. Further, Japanese nationals as well as foreign residents, travelling from Colorado, Hawaii, Minnesota and New York to Japan, will be required to mandatorily spend three days of their two-week quarantine at government-designated facilities.

Referring to this, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno stated that with emerging Omicron cases in the country and to curb the further spread, a government task force took the said decision to control the increasing number of new variant cases in Japan.
The list of countries from where travellers will be required to undergo three-day mandatory quarantine at government-designated facilities, include Austria, Ecuador and France. Whereas those coming from the recent list of countries, including India, Greece, Romanic, and four other US states will be subjected to stringent quarantine requirements, such as staying in government-designated facilities for over 10 days.
Reports have it that the first Omicron case was reported on Tuesday in Japan. This led to the country denying re-entry of all foreigners, including those with long-term visas, who have recently been to any of 10 African countries. Also, the country has now banned new entries by foreigners from around the globe.
