To control the crowd and traffic, the Odisha Police has implemented AI-based CCTV systems across 40 strategic points surrounding the procession route. The measure aims to enhance monitoring capabilities, identify potential congestion regions, and improve overall safety measures during the event.
The police have also installed drones for surveilling blind spots and providing real-time updates to ground teams, facilitating quick responses in case of any emerging situation. Additional DGP of Odisha, Dayal Gangwar, highlighted the integration of AI with existing CCTV networks as a significant step towards proactive management of crowds.
Meanwhile, in Bhubaneswar, local artist L Eswar Rao contributed to the festive spirit by meticulously crafting miniature eco-friendly chariots for Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra. Using innovative materials like papers, incense sticks, and tamarind seeds, Rao's creations are a tribute to the revered deities.
Each chariot, merely two inches tall, took seven days to complete, adorned with decorative stars to capture the essence of the grandeur associated with the Rath Yatra. Rao, a seasoned miniature artist with a 25-year legacy, expressed his devotion through these miniature marvels, underscoring the cultural significance of the Rath Yatra in his creative pursuits.
Odisha stands fully prepared for the grand festivities to blend tradition with technological advancements, ensuring a safe and spiritually enriching experience for all devotees and travellers, alike.
The integration of AI in security measures not only underscores the state's commitment to innovation but also reinforces its dedication to preserving the sanctity and safety of this revered cultural event.
