Nandankanan Zoological Park gets an eco-friendly toy train

Odisha's Nandankanan Zoological Park now has an eco-friendly toy train. Located in Bhubaneswar, the zoological park is a popular tourist attraction. The battery operated toy train was inaugurated by Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister of Odisha, Bikram Keshari Arukha.
According to the Deputy Director of the Nandankanan Zoological Park, Sanjeet Kumar, "The toy train, which will run on the batteries has facilities of five coaches comprising 72 seats in addition to two wheelchairs for disable person."

Arukha also laid the foundation stone for a ropeway here, which is also aimed at attracting tourists, and giving them a unique opportunity to explore the area from up above. The ropeway is going to get 12 cabins, and will cross a lake, while moving without any pillar support. It is going to be a state-of-the-art technology, and will add to the tourist attractions here.
The toy train here at the zoo will cover a total distance of 1.65 km, which will cover the deer zoo, and the elephant zoo. Along with these, visitors to the zoo will also be able to see the Kanjia Lake. It has also been reported that the toy train will operate a total of six times in a single day.

For children, the toy train service is going to cost INR 20, while for adults it is going to cost INR 50 per person.

The Nandankanan Zoological Park is a zoo and a botanical garden that was open to the public in the year 1979. The zoo is home to many Bengal tigers, among other mammals.
