Six Indian airports have made it mandatory for international passengers arriving from ‘at risk’ countries to pre-book the RT-PCR test. This move comes after the Ministry of Civil Aviation issued instructions last week to contain the spread of the Omicron variant. Read less
Six Indian airports have made it mandatory for international passengers arriving from ‘at risk’ countries to pre-book the RT-PCR test. This move comes after the Ministry of Civil Aviation issued instructions last week to contain the spread of the Omicron variant.
As per a government notification, the Air Suvidha portal will be modified to accommodate passengers arriving from ‘at risk’ countries or who have visited them within the last 14 days.
Here’s all that you need to know regarding how to pre-book RT-PCR tests at airports in India.
1. Visit the official website for the international airport of the city that one is travelling to.
2. Check out the option called ‘Book Covid-19 Test' on the top panel.
3. Next, you will be required to select a travel type (in this case, international arrival).
4. Then, you will be required to fill up all personal details, such as email ID, name, mobile number, passport number/Aadhaar card, address, time slot, appointment date, etc.
5. After this, one need to select the type of test (in this case, RT-PCR, though Rapid PCR testing is available as well)
6. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen, and book a slot for yourself for the RT-PCR test on arrival at the airport.
