As part of the unlocking process, Mumbai metro reopening is on the cards, the scheduled date for the same is October 19. On Wednesday, the Maharashtra government approved the restarting of Mumbai metro as part of their project Mission Begin Again. Besides Mumbai metro, the government is also permitting libraries and government organisations to reopen from October 15. As per a statement by the Mumbai metro, all safety measures are already in place and trial runs have been initiated.
@MumMetro is thankful to Government of Maharashtra for allowing metro operations. We have already initiated safety inspections and trial runs, and are set to restart passenger operations from Monday, 19th October 2020, 8:30 am. #MissionBeginAgain #HaveANiceDay

On the other hand, the Maharashtra government has also permitted inter-district trains to resume, while the Mumbai suburban train system remains closed. Any business-to-business exhibitions can also resume, but only outside of containment zones. Government has also permitted local weekly markets to reopen. From October 15, markets will remain open until 9 PM.
For marriages and family functions, the number of guests have been limited to 50, while 20 people are permitted to attend funerals and last rites.
Under Mission Begin Again, Maharashtra has also given green-light for bars, food courts, and restaurants to reopen on October 5. They can only operate at 50 per cent capacity. It has been reported that schools, educational institutions, and colleges will remain shut until October 31.
