IndiGo, in an official release, announced, “We anticipate that around 20 percent of our current scheduled operations will be withdrawn from service.” It further said that they have decided to waive off change fee and are offering free date changes for all existing and new bookings till January 31, 2022 for flights booked up to March 31, 2022.
SpiceJet, on the other hand, has announced its Free Date Change Offer, facility for passengers. The airline is allowing a one-time waiver on the change fee on all international and domestic flight tickets but the request must be made at least 48 hours before scheduled departure.
Air India announced that it will allow One Free Change on all its domestic flight bookings, while AirAsia has extended its rescheduling offer and is allowing free rescheduling for all flight bookings made till January 31, 2022, for travel until March 31, 2022.
Most Indian airlines had taken similar steps during the second wave of COVID-19.
