Recently, two cases of Omicron variant were found in Puducherry. But the court has permitted New Year celebrations amid strict COVID-19 protocols. To keep a check, the Union Territory will make various teams of health, revenue, and police officials who will personally monitor the celebrations.
As per reports, tourists from India and even abroad have already reached Puducherry as all the hotels are fully booked. The biggest and much-awaited event will be organised at Old Port for three days which are December 30, 31 and January 1.
As of now, only 2000 to 3000 guests would be allowed entry for the programme. There will be live music performances and dance shows as well.
