Referring to this, the Kerala Tourism Department has also announced details of the initiative in a release in which it added that Mani Ratnam has extended his support to the government's innovative Cinema Tourism Project.

If things go as planned, the project would be launched as part of a show to be held at the Bekal Fort in Kasaragod district, where exciting scenes of his film Bombay were shot. Apart from the award-winning director, actors of the movie will also likely attend the programme to rev up the project.
Through the Cinema Tourism initiative, Kerala aims to bring tourists to nostalgic locations that were closely identified with films, including Roja, Dil Se, and Bombay. Kerala's scenic landscape will be the focus of this esteemed project, whereas the support and presence of Mani Ratnam will provide a big boost to Cinema Tourism.
