Anant Ambani Wedding: Traffic restrictions in Mumbai; routes to avoid near Bandra-Kurla Complex

The grand wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani, will be held on July 12 at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The wedding, expected to attract VVIPs from India and abroad, will include traffic restrictions imposed by Mumbai police to manage the flow of vehicles. The event will take place at the Jio World Convention Centre, which will be open exclusively for invitees from 1 pm to midnight from July 12-15.
The Jio World Convention Centre, situated in the prestigious Bandra Kurla Complex business district, is being decorated with elaborate art for the ceremony.


The Mumbai Traffic Police announced on social media: "Due to a public event at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex on July 5th & from July 12th to 15th, 2024, the following traffic arrangements will be in place for the smooth flow of traffic.
Due to the grand event, several traffic restrictions have been set around the Jio World Convention Centre. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter Kurla MTNL via Laxmi Tower Junction, Dhirubhai Ambani Square Avenue Lane 3, Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Diamond Junction, and Hotel Trident. However, event vehicles are exempt from this rule.


An alternative route has been provided: vehicles coming from One BKC must turn left at Laxmi Tower Junction, proceed through Diamond Gate No. 8, turn right at NABARD Junction to Diamond Junction, and then continue to BKC via Dhirubhai Ambani Square or the Indian Oil Petrol Pump.

Additionally, traffic is being diverted around Dhirubhai Ambani Square Avenue. Vehicles from Kurla cannot enter Dhirubhai Ambani Square Avenue or Indian Oil Petrol Pump. No vehicular movement is allowed from MTNL Junction, Platina Junction, or Diamond Junction towards the BKC Connector bridge.

Vehicles from Bharat Nagar, One BKC, We Work, and Godrej BKC are restricted from proceeding towards the American Consulate, MTNL Junction via Jio World Convention Centre Gate No. 23.

There are also traffic restrictions near MTNL Junction. Vehicle traffic from MTNL Junction towards the Signature/Sun Tech building, American Consulate, Jio World Convention Centre, and BKC Connector is restricted.

These measures are aimed at ensuring a smooth traffic flow during the high-profile wedding event.
