According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manoj Meena, a comprehensive team comprising seven members from the Forest Department, firefighters, and local law enforcement was deployed at the scene to manage the situation effectively. Meena also confirmed that the leopard had been successfully confined within the room, emphasising that the rescue operation remained ongoing.
The sequence of events began when the police control room (PCR) received an urgent call from concerned locals at approximately 6:15 AM, alerting them to the alarming situation. Responding promptly, law enforcement officials swiftly dispatched a team to the location while simultaneously notifying forest authorities of the unfolding crisis.
Atul Garg, the Chief of Delhi Fire Services (DFS), detailed the department's involvement in the operation, indicating that they were summoned to assist at approximately 6:18 AM. Garg recounted the urgency of the situation, describing how the leopard had forcibly entered a residence in Jagatpuri village. Acting in tandem with residents, firefighters managed to corral the leopard, confining it within a designated room to prevent further harm.

The individuals injured in the encounter received immediate medical attention following the attack. Reports suggest that they are under medical supervision as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
The incident highlights wildlife-related crises in urban environments. This time, however, with the collaborative efforts of law enforcement, forest officials, and fire services personnel, the situation was swiftly contained, which averted potential escalation and ensured safety of residents in the area. As the rescue operation progresses, authorities remain vigilant, prioritising the well-being of both residents and the trapped animal.
