Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata, inaugurated the museum. He took to X and shared pictures from the inauguration of the museum. He said, “A matter of immense pride that the first Solar Dome in India is now open for public at Eco Park, New Town. The Solar Dome Museum revolves around the concept of renewable sources of energy & is equipped with over 2000 solar panels for continuous generation of energy throughout the day providing electricity for the facility itself and lighting up the surrounding streetlights.”
This museum is a joint initiative by the Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation and the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. To visit, head to Gate 6 of the renowned Eco Park, where you’ll find the dome-shaped museum located nearby.
