Mata Chintpurni Temple, with its historical and spiritual significance as one of the Shakti Peethas, is among the sites selected for this development. The new ropeway system is expected to accommodate 700 passengers per hour in each direction, as stated by the officials.
Currently, access to the temple is restricted to a single-lane road from the Baba Mai Dass Bhawan parking area, leading to issues like overcrowding and congestion during religious events such as Navratri.
The introduction of the ropeway will play a crucial step to address these challenges. As per the statement of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the aim is to attract five crore tourists annually, with religious tourism playing a pivotal role in achieving this goal.
In another development, officials from the Chintpurni Temple Trust recently announced that devotees can now order prasad online from the Shaktipeetha Maa Chintpurni Temple in Himachal Pradesh's Una.
