High alert in France after bomb threats; Louvre and Versailles Palace shut down

In a recent update, Paris’s famous attractions such as the Louvre and Versailles Palace have been shut down after bomb threats. There’s a high alert situation in France right now. And these two extremely popular tourist hotspots were evicted immediately along with several other tourist destinations in Paris.

Paris' Louvre Museum had shut down today because of security concerns.

"For security reasons, the Musee du Louvre is closing its doors today, Saturday, October 14," the museum mentioned on X.


After announcing on social media, she told the reporters that the Louvre Museum received a written message which mentioned that there was a risk to the museum and its visitors.

"We have decided... to evacuate and close it for the day, while we carry out the necessary checks", she further said.

The museum has promised to reimburse the tickets of people who couldn’t visit them today. In fact, the French government has also deployed 7000 troops to make sure nothing wrong happens. The French President Emmanuel Macron has ordered up to 7000 soldiers for increased security.

This office said.Macron's office said the soldiers would be mobilised by Monday evening until further notice as part of an ongoing operation that regularly conducts patrols in major city centres and tourist sites.

Reports suggest that the Louvre alone receives over 30000 and 40000 visitors per day.
