To conduct such a huge number of weddings, the temple made myriad adjustments. Originally, 354 wedding slots were booked, so six mandaps or wedding pavilions were built on site. This change was important to make sure that the weddings take place on time.
Each couple then moved to their designated mandap for their five-minute ceremony. After completing their rituals, the newlyweds had a minute to offer prayers at the temple’s main entrance.
Some 49 weddings were completed in just an hour, which is a record in itself. During the Pantheeradi pooja from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM and the Naivedhyam from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, no weddings were conducted. By 11 AM.
The operation involved a number of personnel like 100 policemen, 50 security staff from the Devaswom, and various other support staff. The Guruvayur Municipal Corporation also contributed actively to the arrangements, ensuring that the historic day unfolded seamlessly.
