If you haven’t been to Chandni Chowk in Delhi for a long time, chances are that you will find yourself in unknown waters on your next trip. The reason being that Chandni Chowk is now completely revamped, and on Sunday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the revamped market.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed a gathering near Fountain Chowk main market, and said, "It has already become an important tourist place. I came to know that people come here to roam till 12 am. Street food joints will be allowed to open for 3-4 more hours till 12 am so that people can come here at night and enjoy themselves. Lots of street food joints will be opened after the closure of the market."
The project was approved back in August 2018 and its work reportedly began in December 2018. Initially, it was estimated that the project would be completed by March 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed the time of inauguration.
