Since European train journeys are actually faster than flying, this move comes as a big relief for travellers. As per the reports, the state railways in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and France are joining hands to revive the night train services.
Apart from this, Sweden also made an announcement that it will be launching a new night train service to Belgium and Germany by 2022, which would connect Swedish cities to Brussels and Hamburg, thereby allowing fast connections to the United Kingdom and central Europe.
Earlier this year, a new cost-effective night train started between the Croatian coast and Prague, which became an instant hit, leading to the service to run every night. Reports state that more than 30000 tickets were sold out in its inaugural weeks, whereas tickets of some trains were entirely booked out, reason being the tickets were priced as low as €22 one way.
