Delhi, being the national capital, boasts of historical and heritage sites like the Qutub Minar, Hauz Khas complex, Humayun's Tomb, Safdarjung Tomb, Old Fort, Red Fort etc. Visitors will be allowed to visit the monuments from 7 AM to 7 PM (sunset). However, it would be mandatory for everyone to follow physical distancing measures. Each visitor will have to undergo thermal scanning and sanitisation of hands at the entry point.
Reportedly, security personnel at the entrance gate have been given gloves, mask, face shield and hand sanitiser to stay safe. As of now, 22 guards have been deployed at the Safdarjung Tomb and six guards at Hauz Khas Village.
Visitors have to buy online tickets via QR scanning to make the process completely contact-free.
For now, the Ministry of Home Affairs wants only those monuments to reopen that come under non-containment zones. Monuments in Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj and other places will still stay shut.
