Made at an estimated cost of INR 314 crore, the railway terminal has been designed to offer an airport-like experience. The terminal has been named after Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya, and is Bengaluru's third railway terminal in Baiyappanahalli area. The features of this special terminal are as under:
It is India’s first centrally air-conditioned railway terminal made along similar to the Bengaluru airport. It has the capacity to handle operations of 50 trains at the same time every day. The modish station building of 4200 sq m can accommodate about 50000 passengers on a daily basis.
