Srinagar’s Tulip Garden to open in March for public, followed by the Tulip Festival in April

Come March 24, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar will be open to visitors. Plan your Kashmir holidays around this time because from April 3 to 20, the city of Srinagar will be hosting the annual Tulip Festival, also known as the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden Festival.
The spring season, typically from late March to early April, is the time when the tulips start to bloom.


The festival is held in the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. The garden, overlooking the famous Dal Lake, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Srinagar. The garden, spread over an area of around 30 hectares, is the largest tulip garden in Asia. The garden has over 1.5 million tulips of different colors and varieties.

The festival draws in visitors from all over the country and the world, not just to see the beautiful tulips in full bloom, but also to experience various cultural programs, food stalls, and other activities that showcase the rich culture and traditions of Kashmir.

The tulip blooms don't last very long. Usually they will be around till the end of April. The garden stays open to the public only during this blooming period. Visitors can visit the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden from 8am till 7pm. For adults, the entry fee is INR 60 per person, and INR 25 per child.
