Singapore Airlines stops taking bookings for VTL flights temporarily

Singapore Airlines has announced that it will not be accepting any bookings under the Vaccinated Travel Lane(VTL) until January 20, 2022. The airline company has taken the decision after the Singapore government has suspended new ticket sales on designated VTL flights at this time. All existing bookings will remain as they are, without any changes.
According to Singapore's VTL rules, flights were allowing vaccinated travellers to do quarantine free-travel. It is important to note here that Singapore Airlines was running VTL services from eight Indian cities, including, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. Fights under the VTL had rule began to operate from November 29 between the eight Indian cities and Singapore.

Singapore Airlines said in statement, "With effect from 23.59 hours (Singapore Time) on December 22, Singapore Airlines will stop accepting new bookings for all Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights into Singapore that are scheduled between December and January 20, 2022 (both dates inclusive)."
It is being reported that all passengers who have confirmed booking for VTL flights will not be affected by this decision. Hence, such passengers may proceed with their travel plans. The airline company has also mentioned that there will be no change to the existing VTL or even any test requirements. But all VTL requirements must be met, and only then will travellers be able to enter into Singapore without having to undergo quarantine.

Apart from the above mentioned Indian cities, travellers from the following countries were allowed to travel to Singapore under the VTL scheme - Fiji, Malaysia, France, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Maldives, Cambodia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Spain, South Korea, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Thailand, the UK, Turkey, the US, and Sweden.
