Creek cruise is coming soon to Digha; all you need to know

The popular beach town of Digha in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, is soon going to have creek cruises for tourists. This is expected to come around Durga Puja, which means, the already popular beach town will have something more for you to enjoy. For those curious, these creek cruises will be like the ones we have in the Sundarbans.

As per reports, the creek off the Bay of Bengal is perfect for this as it is away from the rough waters of the sea. The creek cruise will be for about an hour, and will start from Nayakali Temple and will proceed towards the inland. Nayakali Temple is located just 4 km away from Old Digha. There will be two cruise trips per day to begin with.


This new creek tourism is expected to bring more tourism to Digha, especially during the festive season of Durga Puja. The cruise vessel will be able to accommodate around 80 passengers, and will set out from the jetty point near the Nayakali Temple.
