As per the reports, as well as beach resorts of Pattaya, Hua HIn and Cha-Am, are also preparing to reopen to tourists. Referring to this, Tourism Ministry officials added that the reopening will be modeled after the Sandbox initiative to bring back vaccinated tourists to Phuket. They added that more destinations, such as Koh Chang, Chiang Rai, and Koh Kood, will likely fully reopen for visitors from mid-October, with travel bubbles that have been planned.
Reports have it that more than 27000 international travellers have visited Thailand under the said initiative, which lets vaccinated tourists gain entry to Phuket and other cities, as long as they stay in hotels that have been approved by the tourism authority. The authorities associated with the scheme added that all the approved hotels have been checked thoroughly, and also guarantee at least 70 per cent of their workforce is vaccinated.
