Bali reopens for domestic tourists under strict regulations

After much anticipation, Bali has finally reopened but only for domestic tourists. Bali is carrying out its three-phased opening as planned to restore the island’s economy. The Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha has earlier said that they will reopen the gates for domestic tourists on Friday, which is July 31st, but only for domestic travellers. And if things go as per plan, the province will start welcoming oversea tourists from September 11. Bali had already opened its places of tourist interest for local residents in early July in a phased manner.

The governor said all the natural and cultural tourist destinations would be open for visitors. However, the nightclubs and karaoke on the famous island resorts won’t reopen yet. He said, "Nightclubs are not allowed [to reopen] yet. Bali offers a lot [of other tourist destinations] like natural or cultural [tourist spots]."
Though Bali has reopened but there will be stringent rules and regulations.
1) Travellers coming to the island will need to show their negative COVID-19 health certificate on arrival.

2) They will have to adhere to strict health protocols, including temperature checks, wearing masks, and maintaining social distance.
3) Before arriving in Bali, travellers should install the LOVEBALI application from the government’s official website. The app will help them to report any issues or complaints while in Bali.

4) Visitors are also asked to activate their phone GPS while on the island all the time.

The mayor also further said that they are talking with the central government regarding the temporary ban on foreign arrivals and transits. He said they are “still monitoring the development of the COVID-19 pandemic abroad."
In the last few days, Bali’s has seen a spike in COVID-19 positive patients. Till now, the island has recorded 3360 cases and 48 deaths.
