Bali is kicking out tourists who flout COVID rules

Bali is coming down hard on tourists flouting COVID norms. Recently, island authorities kicked out foreign tourists for breaking COVID protocols. Indonesia is currently dealing with a high rate of infection, and covid rules are in place for tourists as well as locals. According to reports, Bali sent three visitors from the United States, Russia, and Ireland back to their home countries after they were found not wearing masks in public.
The island of Bali now has a zero-tolerance policy, with authorities issuing a statement saying that the three visitors broke minimum virus rules that require everyone to wear face masks. In another incident, a Russian woman is also going to get deported since she tested positive, and refused to self-quarantine. She will have to leave Bali, once she gets virus-free.
Indonesia reported 40427 cases on Monday, becoming one of the worst hit countries in Southeast Asia. The country also reported 891 deaths in the last 24 hours. During such a time, it is important that travellers abide by the rules of the land and not flout COVID rules, as it could result in a dangerous wave of infections and death.
Though Bali has been less affected by the recent wave of virus in the country, there is no reason to flout COVID norms as it could only lead to the island getting majorly affected. As seen in the past year, the island of Bali has had a total of 1648 deaths, with 56000 cases, and with the delta variant, the number could rise rapidly.
Bali is heavily dependent on tourism, and has rolled out a vaccination plan to be able to open for tourism. The authorities have made it clear that vaccination does not mean that social distancing and masks are unnecessary.
