What is the protest all about?
1) The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020
2) The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020
3) The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020
As of now, the farmers claim to have emptied all the railway tracks only to allow goods trains to pass. However, the Railways has said that it will either run both passengers and the goods trains or it won't run any train at all.
Recent update
The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), an association of around 200 farmers from all over India, has called for a ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest. It has been decided that on November 26 and 27, farmers will arrive in Delhi on tractors and trolleys.
