Global mobility in 2024 continued to be uneven, as some passports improved their spots in the global ranking, some still offer minimal visa-free access as per the Henley Passport Index. Citizens of countries like Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen face significant travel restrictions, with their passports granting visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to fewer than 40 countries. Afghanistan – 26 countriesThe Afghanistan passport is the weakest passport in the world, offering its citizens visa-free access to only 26 destinations. Reasons are decades of conflict and ongoing instability, which has severely limited Afghan citizens’ ability to travel. As per the reports, many countries impose strict visa requirements due to security and political concerns, due to which international travel becomes increasingly challenging for Afghan nationals.

Syria – 27 countries
Syria ranks second among the weakest passports, with its citizens getting access to just 27 countries. There are several reasons for this, such as years of civil war and international sanctions, which have left Syrian citizens deal with restricted mobility. Most nations require Syrians to undergo extensive visa application processes, further complicating their ability to connect with the world.

Although the nation has made some considerable progress in improving its global standing, persistent security issues and political instability continue to impact its citizens' travel freedom. Pakistani nationals face particularly strict visa regulations when attempting to visit Europe or North America.

Yemen – 33 countriesWith 33 visa-free travel destinations, Yemen is tied for fourth place with Pakistan. There are several restrictions in Yemen as a result of the ongoing conflict, humanitarian catastrophe, and unstable political climate. Most of Yemenis' visa-free travel possibilities are restricted to nearby or regional nations.
