The luxurious ingredients
The restaurant owners are two brothers Matthew and Josh McCahill. The duo told the media that the idea hit them after stumbling upon a $200 (INR 14649) peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a gold toothpick on their travels.
The jam was selected from a French company, Maison Dutriez which he discovered travelling through Europe. Making this jam is a painstaking process as the red and white currants are de-seeded manually using a feather quill with extreme precision.
Matthew said, “The redcurrant berries burst with flavour and the honey is delicious and decadent. It's hedonism in the mouth.”
Those who wish to relish this expensive food item must place an order with the restaurant 24 hours in advance. Diners who buy the 'Golden Goose' are allowed to carry the remainder of the jam and honey jars.
Not only this, a percentage of the sandwich proceeds are donated to Chicago Hopes for Kids, a charity institute. Soon after its launch, the peanut butter sandwich has become the major attraction here.
