In these unprecedented times of Coronavirus pandemic, travel is the last thing that people would want to do, due to risk of spreading infection. But there are things happening in the travel circuit, such as opening borders, resuming international flights, or even offering heavy discounts to motivate people to travel. And the latest to join the bandwagon is a British airline, i.e., Virgin Atlantic that has launched free COVID-19 insurance cover for all passengers. Read less
Referring to this insurance cover, the airline claimed that it is the most comprehensive COVID-19 cover that has been provided by any major airline; that too, for all existing and new bookings up until March 31, 2021.
The insurance will cover all emergency medical and associated expenses if things go wrong, and will cover expenses up to £500,000 per passenger while abroad. Referring to the amount, Virgin says that it is the highest value of policy that is offered by any airline to date, and that too with no excess payment. In addition to this, the insurance cover will also pay out up to £3,000 if a customer is denied boarding due to COVID-19, or needs to undergo quarantine due to a positive or suspected case during a trip.
As per the airline, the policy is applied automatically and is designed to complement existing travel insurance, thereby providing additional peace of mind for upcoming trips.
