An ancient city dating back to before the Roman times, Segovia is a beautiful place sitting between two rivers, less than 100 km from Madrid. It is considered to be one of the richest cities in Spain in terms of monuments and is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage City. One of the popular places to visit in Segovia, almost dominating the city, is the Roman aqueduct built nearly 2000 years ago. The Alcazar or the Royal Palace is considered to be the inspiration not only for Walt Disney’s Cinderella castle but also, eventually, Walt Disney’s logo. A cathedral in gothic style and ancient stone structures including gateways and houses make for a fantastic experience.
