Delhi is playing host to another big festival from today at the expansive Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) campus near India Gate. So Delhiites have a good place to spend their weekend this time.
According to the festival organisers, the festival has been hosted to showcase Ayodhya's rich cultural heritage in order to spread more awareness about this holy city. The three-day Ayodhya Parv started from Friday, February 28 and will end on Sunday, March 1.
The organisers also told the press that the festival has been organised at a time when the work for building a magnanimous Ram Temple in Ayodhya is taking flight. The festival in Delhi is a good initiative on part of the organisers to showcase what Ayodhya stands for and the cultural heritage it possesses.
Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Dharmendra Pradhan, and several ministers and VIP personalities hailing from politics, culture, art and literature will be attending the event.
The festival will throw light on Ayodhya’s fame as the birthplace of Lord Ram, the food, music, art and folk dance. A documentary showing the heritage sites and socio-cultural life of Ayodhya will also be screened. .
Lallu Singh, MP from Ayodhya, told the press that the festival will show a glimpse of the Ayodhya, and throw light on its role in the evolution of the Indian culture.
Sita Rasoi, the representation of a site at the Ram Janma Bhoomi complex which is believed to be the kitchen used by Goddess Sita, will also be shown. The rasoi will have a plethora of local delicacies of Ayodhya which the attendees can eat with relish at the fest. In addition, a host of renowned classical singers and folk dancers will be enthralling the audiences with their performances.
There will also be discussion and debates on different facets of Ayodhya and its importance, a talk on Ramrajya philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and an inter-college debate by the students.
