Tea in Beijing can be bought for a fraction of Western prices. Unfortunately, many major tea markets have become expensive tourist traps, and the safest choice is one of the major chains where the Chinese themselves go to shop for tea: Wu Yu Tai. The popular tea house has been around since 1887 and has a couple of hundred stores in Beijing.
The company's green logo makes it easy to find any of the shops, and the prices are the same in every store. Wu Yu Tai is slightly more expensive than smaller chains, but the products are sure to be first-class. They usually also have great special offers.
