Our travels often lead us to look for travel discounts, and we are forever in search of the best flight deals, the best hotel deals, and so on. Thankfully, student discount is a reality, and it is not only for solo travelling students. Did you know that if you have a student in your family you can get discounts for him or her? Apart from the regular discounts, there are additional benefits such as travel cards and airline miles that can also be of great help.
Additionally, airlines also give discounts on the base fair. So if you are a student, you can get 6 per cent off on base fare in Indigo and Spicejet; plus, additional baggage allowance of 10 kg. Air India too allows students to book tickets with a 50 per cent discount, but only if you are flying between your hometown and your place of study. Of course, such offers are available only for economy fares, and students between the ages of 12 and 26 can avail the discounts.
Then, there is the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) that can be attained by students. This card allows you to enjoy sightseeing, shopping, visiting amusement parks, and more at discounted rates. The benefits are in fact worldwide.
An important thing to remember when travelling by flight or availing discounts at tourism sites is that students must carry their ID proofs. ID proof of your educational institution and your personal ID proofs are a must.
