Staged for the first time in 110 years in India in 2012, this contemporary art exhibition is an amalgam of artworks and culture. At Kochi-Muziris Biennale artists from various corners of the world have their brilliant works on display across Fort Kochi and Mattancherry. The whole town turns into a vibrant art fair with paintings, art works, sculptures, videos, photographs, graffiti, seminars, music and performance art, and cultural programs all over the place. Most of the exhibits are displayed at Aspinwall and other old warehouses. The dingy and spicy aroma-filled rooms and attics of many heritage buildings and dilapidated structures are thoughtfully used for the art display. It is held once in two years and the last one was from December 2014 to March 2015. Being held in the months between December and March, it goes well with the tourist season. Even if not an art lover, this art exhibition is a must if you are in Cochin between the months of December and March, for it can definitely bring out the unknown art lover in you. Apart from curious locals, art lovers, celebrities and eminent personalities, Biennale attracts hordes of tourists and travellers from all over the world.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
