Bhopal can be a fine activity hub for the ones who have a thing for the wilderness. Located around 10 kms away from the city border is the Van Vihar National Park, a safe home for some of India’s well known flora and fauna. Perched on the lap of Shymala Hills, this is a naturalistic-looking enclosure for tiger, lion, sloth bear, striped hyena, crocodiles and other carnivorous animals. Essentially a zoological park, Van Vihar National Park was created with the motive of rescuing animals from various parts of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Spread across a staggering 455 hectares of land, this place is an ideal destination for wildlife lovers to come and observe the animals from a close corner. You can also go for water based activities at the nearby boat club that arranges motorboat rides, pedal boats and other water sports.
