Here’s how you can ride the ‘real-life Hogwarts Express’ from Harry Potter

Hear hear, Potter heads! There’s a real-life Hogwarts Express that cannot take you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry but definitely gives you the same magical vibes. The famous Jacobite Steam Train (more popular as the Hogwarts Express) runs between April and October, giving Potter fans a chance to explore the gorgeous countryside in Scotland.

Though there’s no Platform 9 and ¾ (magical world platform mentioned in the books) at Kings Cross Station, this train leaves from Fort William station, which is equally gorgeous and can be reached in a two-hour drive from Glasgow.

Other Hogwarts Expresses

This train looks exactly like the Hogwarts Express as shown in the Harry Potter movies and visitors can live their wizard fantasies. There’s another train that is operated by the North Yorkshire Moors Historical Railway Trust. It also gives Potterheads an opportunity to live their Harry Potter dream. The train has a stop at Goathland station, which was shown as Hogsmeade Station in the Potter movies.

There’s one train in Philadelphia as well, also called the Hogwarts Express. It leaves from Jefferson Station for a special Harry Potter-themed event.
Tickets for the West Coast Railways Hogwarts Express are priced at $50 (INR 4106) for an adult and $28 (INR 2299) for a child up to age 12.
