While travel can be exhilarating, millennials are seeking more out of their trips than just visiting popular spots. This can be easily achieved by marking the big events or fests happening at a destination. Fuse your interest in sports, culture, art, food and more with travelling while you visit the destination that you’ve been eyeing during that period. If you are visiting Sharjah in the near future, explore these two events and be assured that these will definitely be a highlight of your visit.

Sharjah Light Festival
When : 6 - 16 February, 2020
Gear up for the 10th edition of the Sharjah Light Festival, which is set to take place from 6 - 16 February, 2020, across more than 10 iconic locations in Sharjah. Spread across different locations, each show in the festival narrates a unique story, curated by renowned artists from all over the world. All these stories unfurl in the form of light and music shows at iconic sites such as the University City Hall, Police Academy, Heart of Sharjah, Al Noor Mosque and Al Qasba to landmark buildings in Kalba, and Khorfakkan on the East Coast of Sharjah. Every year, across the Khalid lagoon, hundreds of beautifully lit Palm Trees sway in the gentle evening breeze. A majestic grace that settles over the entire emirate during its annual light festival and is better experienced firsthand.
Each show lasts 10- 20 minutes and is repeated every 5 minutes. The show timing is usually from 6 PM to 11 PM on weekdays and continues till midnight on weekends (Friday & Saturday). This lets you catch your favourite show more than once before you head over to the next location.
