The popular ISKCON temple in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, has been scanning foreign tourists to detect any symptoms of Coronavirus infection. The measure has been taken in the wake of the rising number of Coronavirus cases in all parts of India.
The ISKCON temple administration in Vrindavan has not put a ban on the entry of foreign devotees yet, considering the fact that a large number of devotees from abroad visit the temple. Instead, ISKCON has been conducting medical examinations of the devotees at the temple entry gate. Ravilochan Das, a spokesperson of ISKCON temple, reportedly told the press that everyone is welcome to visit the shrine but only after getting examined by the gate staff.
ISKCON Vrindavan has also issued a statement on its website, stating that in accordance with the government recommendations, the shrine board is limiting travel and large gatherings. Public safety is their main concern. Devotees and pilgrims are welcome in the temple premises, but they should be aware of the grave medical concerns from Coronavirus.
The ISKCON temple in Vrindavan is a magnet for Radha-Krishna devotees. Besides the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, it is the ISKCON shrine that sees a lot of visitors, including a significant number of foreign tourists. Made in white marble, this grand temple attracts both devotees and other tourists alike.
