The Sunshine Coast is liberally peppered with forest land and is home to 10 national parks. But for sheer novelty and uniqueness of trekking between the sea and rainforest, the Noosa National Park scores over others. It has one of those unusual combinations―sea on one side and rainforest on the other. Spread over 4000 hectares, the park encompasses several beaches popular for surfing, while five walking tracks (the longest is 8 km), that run up and down the undulating land and weave in and out of the forest, offer glimpses from between trees as well as vantage points and panoramic views of the sea. Though the park is home to koalas, these are rare to spot, though noisy cockatoos and slithery monitor lizards are more commonly visible.
