This might sound weird yet hilarious but this is one serious tourist issue in the beautiful Italian city of Venice. Despite several laws banning tourists from doing a list of things in the region, two Czech tourists decided to go for a swim in Venice canal and that too completely naked. The two were later arrested and fined an estimated $3,320 (INR 2,36,374) for their obscene act.
Both Czech tourists were in quite happy mood when they were found by the policemen. When asked about the reason behind their obscene act, the duo told officers that because it’s too warm they decided to go for a swim. However, soon they came out of the water without creating any scene. After putting their clothes on, they went with the police to the station. The Italian authorities have fined them under legislation covering acts against public decency.
The incident is just another addition to the tourists causing issues in the pretty Venice. The city is already suffering from some major overtourism problem. Just a few days back, a video went viral where in a gondolier was being headbutted and punched by a tourist. The reason for his behaviour was that he was asked to leave the gondola by the gondolier for taking selfies.
