This monsoon, experience ‘white river rafting’ in Goa

White water rafting will start soon in Goa for tourists wanting to enjoy adventure tourism. An official from the state government informed that the rafting activity will start in the next fortnight on the Mahadayi River near Valpoi.

This announcement comes as a good news for tourists looking for a monsoon adventure in Goa. With monsoons hitting the coastal state, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has decided to start adventure tourism in the region. And, to start with, the corporation will be starting with the rafting project soon.

Referring to this development, a senior GTDC official said, “The white river rafting on the Mahadayi River would start in a fortnight with additional attractions like personalised videos that would record the rafting experience.” He also said, “This year, white river rafting experience promises to be different as the GTDC has tied up with top adventure sports video company in the country to capture rafting experience through a personalised video, which would be shared via WhatsApp or Google Drive the same day.”

Navigating the rapids of the river has been gaining immense popularity in the recent times. Also, Goa being a popular destination for numerous watersports, it is expected that this activity will be helpful in promoting tourism.
To start with, seven rafts will be put into action, which will take people for a ride of 10 km. The rafts will navigate through the waves along the picturesque landscape, which will further add a picturesque dimension to this adventure activity.
