Visit Lake Pancharevo

Explore Lake Pancharevo - Just 12 km outside Sofia is Lake Pancharevo. It seems millions of miles away from the hustle bustle of the city despite being mere minutes from the city centre. The lake is perfect during all seasons but it makes for an especially great day out during summer months. You can picnic by its shores and go swimming, rowing or fishing in the lake. If you’re not in the mood to pack a picnic, there are several restaurants and cafés in the area that boast of a variety of Bulgarian delicacies on their menus.
For active tourists, there are quite a few hiking and walking trails in the area. They offer panoramic views of Bulgaria’s countryside and build up an appetite as well. However, if this isn’t your idea of fun, you can just hop over to the neighbouring hot springs. The Pancharevo Baths are quite dated with designated bathing areas for men and women but they are definitely worth a try because they are a big hit with locals.
