A Japan-based airline has put money in a Colorado-based start-up, which is constructing ultra-fast passenger jets for first-class travellers. According to news reports, the airline has bought the rights to purchase about 20 superfast airplanes from Boom Technology in the near future.
On Tuesday, reportedly, Arapahoe County-based Boom Technology Inc., and the Japanese Airlines having its base in Tokyo, went public about JAL’s investment of $10 million in Boom. As a part of the process, JAL will talk over with Boom about the design of the airplane.
“JAL will provide its knowledge and experience as an airline to support Boom in developing the aircraft. The two companies will cooperate closely to realise faster and more convenient air travel,” the companies’ declared.

Boom is going to come up with a passenger aircraft equipped to fly twice faster than the pace of sound! It will be made to fly trans-Atlantic course from London to New York in 3 hours and 11 minutes, or fly directly from Denver to Tokyo in less than 7 hours.
In early 2017, Blake Scholl, CEO and founder of Boom Technology Inc. said, the supersonic jet will enable a business class passenger to fly Tokyo from Denver, attend to his/her business in the city without facing the issue of accommodating to time change and jet lag.
“What we’re doing isn’t just shaving off an hour here or there. We’re changing access to the planet,” said Scholl.

Like Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, JAL too has pre-booked airplanes from Boom. Reportedly, Virgin Galactic possesses the right to purchase 10 jets from Colorado-based firm.
Currently, the Japan-based airline has 227 airplanes flying to and fro 56 countries.
