Festivals are plentiful in Calgary, especially during the summer. The most popular among them is the giant Calgary Stampede which runs for a whopping 10 days, and offers everything from carnival like rides to games for kids and adults, a rodeo, and one massive grand stand show that features elements such as fireworks and acrobats. Other popular festivals include the Pride Week Festival which features an all-inclusive atmosphere for people of all ages, races and genders, and has one glamorous parade. The lilac festival is a popular way to ring in summer and make sure to leave your car at the hotel as this festival is pedestrian-only traffic. Throughout the months of July and August you can find multiple festivals in the popular neighborhoods throughout the city, including Marda Loop, Inglewood, and Kensington. Often these festivals include live music, bouncy castles and face painting for the kids, local vendors, food trucks, and a small beer garden or tent. Rain or shine, the festivals take place throughout the city and it’s almost impossible to visit the city without experiencing one.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
