Osaka is an outright metropolis and unfortunately has little to no natural elements. However, Spa World, despite being entirely man-made, is a strong reminiscent of the rejuvenating hot-springs Japan is so very famous for. Located in the Shinsekai District, Spa World is a gigantic bathhouse with multiple floors, a luxury hotel adjacent to it, several souvenir shops, and a fancy arcade. You are supposed to buy your tickets from one of the vending machines outside the lobby, stow your shoes away in the locker room, and then proceed to the 4th or the 6th floors (depending on which one is designated for men and women) for a relaxing bath. To make things all the more interesting, the 4th floor baths have elaborate themes like that of Spain, Greece, Rome, and Finland, while the ones on the 6th floor are more of the traditional Japanese kind. The 8th floor of the premises has a mixed bathing section with a humongous pool and a play area for children. The presence of a massive food zone only adds to the charm of this wonderland, and it wouldn’t be wrong to call Spa World a theme park of hot-springs.
