Tapovan is a sacred site about five kilometres from the heart of the city, located along the Dehradun-Rajpur Road. Placed along the banks of Ganga, this scenic spot is popular because it is believed that Guru Dronacharya had undergone his penance here. Radiating an air of spirituality, Tapovan is surrounded by lush green and the gurgle of the river running by. At any given time, visitors can see yogis and sages sitting and meditating here, and the ashram hosts periodic yoga courses.
