On Torcello and Murano islands, you can see marvelous Byzantine mosaics and pavements, while on San Giorgio Maggiore Island you can enjoy Renaissance architecture and art. The cemetery island of Saint Michelle is also worth a stop and don’t miss the beautiful sunsets from Sant’Erasmo Island. You can also often find souvenirs and gifts can be purchased way cheaper on the surrounding islands than in Venice so don’t forget to bring your purse!
