Located adjacent to the Kyoto Station, BIC Camera is a celebrated electronics store in Kyoto, with several branches in other cities of Japan. While it might initially come across as a perplexing cluster of colourful signs in an alien language and weird products, the functions of which are downright impossible to comprehend, it is actually a great place to buy mobile phones, computers, cameras, and memory sticks. With seven massive floors, the number of products available at BIC Camera is quite overwhelming, ranging from the usual widgets, household electronics, beauty equipments, toys, sports goods, stationery, medicines, and even liquor for that matter. The only downside is the fact that the gadgets displayed here come with instructions in Japanese and buttons designed specifically for the country. However, certain manuals are available in English, and they require a tad bit of looking around as the staff cannot really speak much English. All of the effort will be well worth your time because the prices here are quite reasonable when compared to other such shops in the city.Japan is synonymous with technology and BIC Camera is a testament to that fact. It is open daily from 10 in the morning till 9 in the evening, and if you happen to get lost in the maze of high-rises, you must remember that the Nishinotoin Gate of Kyoto Station goes directly into the 2nd floor of this building.
