Taiwan's Christmas celebrations for the year are titled, Christmasland in New Taipei City, and offer quite a lot. Disney and Taiwan authorities have joined hands for a spectacle that promises to be the largest ever 3-D light show, impressive art installations of some of Disney's most-loved princesses, Disney-themed bridges, almost 50 other art installations and a lot more.
While the country has not reported any locally-transmitted case of COVID-19 for the past six months, due precautions are in place for Christmas celebrations. Rather than encouraging an on-site gathering of revellers, the authorities are keen to make people join in virtually as the event will be live streamed. The celebrations will only be open to residents and domestic tourists, with clear guidelines about social distancing, wearing of masks, and sanitisation processes.
Taiwan hopes to make the event even bigger for the next year, while the rest of the world hopes to be able to travel again and join in the fun like the pre-COVID days.
