Not many people are aware of the fact that Supercheap was gutted in a devastating fire in October 2013 and was rebuilt with fire-proof materials only to open its doors, yet again, in 2014. The original entrance can still be seen standing in all its glory. It is not a very touristy market and you should therefore not expect to find souvenirs and lucrative bargains. If you are looking for authentic Thai spices and quality household supplies that aren’t available in your country, follow in the footsteps of the locals and head over to Supercheap. You will not be disappointed.
