Located less than 44 km from the capital city, Sultanpur National Park is the perfect location for a date with nature. A walk around the grassland and marshes introduces you to a wide variety of birds. Covering an area of 1.43 sq km, Sultanpur is home to more than 250 species of birds of which more than 100 species are migratory. The best time to visit, as is the case with most of the bird sanctuaries, is the winter season when migratory birds come here in search of feeding grounds. One can spot northern pintail, Siberian crane, rosy pelican, greater flamingo, Eurasian wigeon, wood sandpiper and many others. Besides, one can see a number of resident birds as well, including black-necked stork, egret, white-throated kingfisher, dove, lapwing, rose-ringed parakeet and Indian roller.
